Grand-daughter of Former Karnataka CM Yediyurappa Found Hanging In Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Soundarya, the Granddaughter of former Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa was found dead on 28 January.

Her body was found hanging inside her flat in an apartment in Bengaluru's Vasantanagar. Her relatives immediately rushed her to the nearest hospital after they came to know about this incident.

Unfortunately, it was too late as she had been declared dead. A post-mortem is being conducted at the Bowring Hospital in the city and a police investigation is underway.

The incident unraveled around 10 am when the house help continuously knocked on the door of her room only to get response at all. Her husband who opened the door found his wife hanging from the ceiling fan in the bedroom.

As per police, prima facia evidences indicate it to be a suicide case.

Soundarya, who was 30 years old, was the daughter of Padma, Yediyurappa's oldest daughter. She was a doctor by profession and was working with the MS Ramaiah hospital. Soundarya married Dr Neeraj in 2019. She also had a four month old child.

She suffered from postpartum depression and was undergoing treatment for the same, according to Yediyurappa's office.

She lived nearby Yediyurappa's private residence near Vasanth Nagar.

The Karnataka cabinet has been informed about this news and Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai reportedly rushed to the hospital to meet the former Karnataka CM and offer his condolences.

A team from High Grounds Police Station, which falls under the jurisdiction of DCP Central Bengaluru, has begun an investigation into Soundarya's death.
